I'm a master student in Conflict & Development, with a special interest in indigenous struggles and their intersection with environmental issues, land conflicts, and other associated processes, such as (neo)extractivism and developmentalism.
I'm Portuguese and, by cultural default, came into early contact with Brazilian culture, from which the default became a passion and a wish to learn more.
In my "previous life" I worked as a speech and language therapist wherein I was very directly confronted with my own privilege and taken-for-granted reality. From that perspective, I learnt that we humans inhabit the same planet, but live in very different worlds that are far from being apolitical and neutral. That set me on the journey I am today, which included, among others, moving to Belgium, doing a bachelor in social sciences, getting married, and still not enjoying Northern European weather.
